A generator with its own day tank gets its own unit, sized to that tank. If it draws from the main tanks, the main-tank units already cover it.

Genset with its own day tank
Up to 100 L: one D10. 100–500 L: one D50. Above 500 L: one D50 per 500 L, like any other tank.
Genset fed from the main tanks
Nothing extra: the units in the main tanks treat the fuel the generator burns too.
Portable gasoline generator on board
Its own small tank: up to 20 L a G-Ball, up to 60 L a G10A, through the cap or the fuel fill.
Boats save fuel too. More complete combustion raises engine speed and output, so ask the engine maker first whether the engine has room for it.

How it goes in
- Engine off, generator off. Open the day tank's filler or inspection cover.
- Put the D10 (up to 100 L) or D50 (up to 500 L) in the tank. Above 500 L, one D50 per 500 L.
- Close up and refuel as usual. It stays in the tank for about ten years; nothing to replace.
Fuel is flammable. Engine off before you open the tank. No smoking near the tank, no sparks or open flame; work in a ventilated space and wipe up any spill. If in doubt, have a marine technician or a Greentech authorised installer put it in.
- Water at the bottom of the tank or E10 gasoline is no problem for the casing.
- It stays in the tank for about ten years. Nothing to replace, no maintenance.
- The enhancer must be in contact with the fuel, so it always goes inside the tank, never on the fuel line.
Questions
Do I need one for the generator if the main tanks already have D50s?
No. If the generator draws from the main tanks, the units there cover it. Only a separate day tank needs its own unit.
Day tank of 200 L: D10 or D50?
D50 (up to 500 L). The D10 covers day tanks up to 100 L.
Does the generator's governor need adjusting?
The generator is not modified. More complete combustion raises engine speed and output, so ask the generator maker first whether the engine has room for it.
Can I measure it on a generator?
Generators are the easiest: log fuel per hour at the same load for a few days before and after. We publish no saving figure for marine use.
