Fishing boats, workboats & diesel cruisers
Count each tank: one D50 per 500 litres, so a 2,000 L tank takes four. Through the filler or the inspection hatch, no engine work, nothing to replace for about ten years.
How many for your boat
Coastal fishing boats, 500–2,000 L
One D50 per 500 L of each tank: 1,000 L = two, 2,000 L = four. Two tanks are counted separately.
Workboats, pilot boats and tugs under 10,000 L
Same rule, tank by tank, up to 10,000 L per tank; or ask for a made-to-order size for one large tank. From 10,000 L per tank, the Marine Fuel Saver.
Diesel cruisers and trawler yachts
Typical 800–3,000 L tanks: two to six D50 per tank. A generator with its own day tank is one more tank.
Boats save fuel too. More complete combustion raises engine speed and output, so ask the engine maker first whether the engine has room for it.

How it goes in

- Engine off. Open the filler or the tank's inspection hatch.
- Put in one D50 per 500 L of that tank, spread along the tank so each sits in fuel. Tanks with baffles: have the installer position them through the hatch.
- Close up and refuel as usual. Each separate tank gets its own units; they stay in the tank for about ten years.
Fuel is flammable. Engine off before you open the tank. No smoking near the tank, no sparks or open flame; work in a ventilated space and wipe up any spill. If in doubt, have a marine technician or a Greentech authorised installer put it in.
- Water at the bottom of the tank or E10 gasoline is no problem for the casing.
- It stays in the tank for about ten years. Nothing to replace, no maintenance.
- The enhancer must be in contact with the fuel, so it always goes inside the tank, never on the fuel line.
Questions
How many D50 for 2,000 litres?
Four: one per 500 L, spread along the tank. Two tanks of 1,000 L take two each.
Can I use fewer and still see a difference?
The rule is one per 500 L of fuel for the enhancer to work on. Size to the tank; the calculator does the arithmetic.
Marine diesel, MGO, fuel oil?
Diesel and marine gas oil boats use the D50. Fuel-oil ships with tanks of 10,000 L and more use the Marine Fuel Saver after a survey.
Will the engine run differently?
More complete combustion raises engine speed and output. Ask the engine maker first whether the engine has room for it; the engine and fuel system are not modified.
How do I measure it on a fishing boat?
Litres per hour at the same rpm on the same run, or fuel per trip, for a few trips before and after. Sea state and load change the number, so compare like with like. We publish no saving figure for boats.
The G-Ball, G10A, G10, D10 and D50 sold on this page are the same Greentech fuel enhancers used in cars, motorcycles, trucks and generators: one product, one serial-number system, one 12-month product warranty. Prices in USD; shipping and tax are added at checkout.
